A Level

A Levels have long been considered to be the ‘Gold Standard’ in education. Students are expected to choose at least three subjects but can study four A Levels following discussion with the Head of Sixth Form.

Entrance Criteria

Our entrance criteria are set appropriately to ensure all our students can access three or four programmes of study.

Students must achieve a minimum of Grade 5 in both English and Maths GCSE. Students must then achieve a minimum of Grade 6 in the subjects they wish to study at A level. Further details can be found on the subject-specific pages below.

Choosing Your Subjects

It is important that you choose subjects which you enjoy and will be successful in. Try to ensure your subjects are combined sensibly and will place you in a strong position for your future applications or career path. Please ask if unsure of which subjects to take. We will endeavour to provide students with their first choice of subjects where possible*.
